The Texas Instruments TUSB8041-Q1 is an automotive-grade, four-port SuperSpeed USB 3.0 hub controller delivering 5-Gbps data rates on the upstream port and supporting SuperSpeed, high-speed, full-speed, and low-speed connections on downstream ports. It is available in a 64-pin HTQFP (10x10 mm) package and operates over the AEC-Q1 qualified temperature range of -40C to +85C.
A USB 3.0 hub controller is an interface IC that fans out a single upstream USB link into multiple downstream ports, negotiating both SuperSpeed (5 Gbps) and USB 2.0 (high/full/low-speed) paths simultaneously. Hubs sit in the USB topology hierarchy between the host controller and end devices, handling enumeration, power management, and transaction translation defined by the USB 3.0 specification.

When designing, provide a stable 24 MHz reference clock or use the integrated oscillator option, and ensure per-port power switches are rated for the inrush requirements of attached USB 3.0 devices. At 5 Gbps, keep the SuperSpeed differential pairs length-matched with controlled impedance; according to TI datasheet guidance, unused downstream ports should be terminated per the datasheet recommendation for signal integrity.
