OP2177ARZ-REEL7 Übersicht
An operational amplifier (op amp) is a high-gain, differential-input, single-ended-output voltage amplifier that serves as a fundamental building block in analog electronics. Op amps are categorized by parameter emphasis into general-purpose, precision, low-noise, high-speed, and low-power families. The OP2177 belongs to the precision low-noise family, which optimizes DC accuracy (Vos, Ib, drift) alongside low spectral noise density for high-resolution measurement systems where both linearity and signal-to-noise ratio matter.
Key features include an input offset voltage drift of 0.1 uV/degree C, a typical input bias current of 0.5 nA, and 500 uA quiescent current per amplifier. The bipolar input stage uses laser-trimmed thin-film resistors to achieve sub-100 uV offset without external nulling. Outputs are stable with capacitive loads exceeding 100 pF, which simplifies buffer and cable-driving designs by eliminating the need for isolation resistors.
The OP2177 architecture pairs a precision bipolar input pair with a class AB output stage, delivering 10 mA minimum output current while keeping supply current below 1 mA per channel. The result is an amplifier suitable for low-power instrumentation that must still drive moderate loads such as ADC reference ladders, audio line outputs, and active-filter capacitors.
Typical applications include precision data-acquisition front ends, thermocouple and RTD signal conditioning, precision active filters, and four-wire sensor current sensing. The 8-pin SOIC pinout is industry-standard, simplifying PCB retrofits into legacy OP-213 / OP-2177 sockets.
When designing with this device, place 0.1 uF decoupling capacitors within 5 mm of pins 4 and 8, and keep input traces short. For best noise performance, choose low-impedance feedback networks (under 10 kohm) and avoid high-impedance nodes exposed to EMI.

Designhinweise
Place 0.1 uF X5R/X7R ceramic decoupling capacitors within 5 mm of pins 4 (V-) and 8 (V+). Use a bulk 10 uF tantalum or aluminum-polymer capacitor at the supply input. Single-point star ground topology from the analog ground plane prevents digital switching currents from injecting into the OP2177 supply rail. Avoid sharing series resistance between V+ and V- decoupling paths.
Do not connect input pins directly to high-impedance nodes longer than 5 mm without ESD protection; the OP2177 inputs are bipolar with low 0.5 nA bias current but the same low bias makes them susceptible to PCB leakage. Add 100 kohm input resistors for protection against transients. Avoid exceeding +/-15 V on V+ or V-; voltage transients above absolute-maximum 18 V damage the part.
Route sensitive input traces over a continuous ground plane and keep them 5 mm minimum from supply and output traces to minimize crosstalk. Use guard rings around the inverting input for high-impedance nodes (above 100 kohm source impedance) to absorb leakage current from the PCB surface. Keep feedback network resistors close (<3 mm) to the inverting input to minimize stray capacitance.
Estimated: with 1 kohm feedback resistors and 1.3 MHz GBP, closed-loop gain of 10 yields a gain of 100 GBW available for error correction. Output noise integrated from 0.1 Hz to 10 Hz is approximately 0.5 uVpp, dominated by 7.9 nV/rt(Hz) spectral density. Keep total closed-loop gain below 1000 to avoid on-chip saturation at rail.
The 8-SOIC (R-8) package dissipates up to 600 mW with junction-to-ambient 160 C/W. Under typical operating conditions (<10 mA load, dual 15V supply), total power dissipation is 15 V * 1 mA per amp = 15 mW per channel; thermal rises are negligible. No heatsink required even at 125 degree C ambient. Maintain good PCB copper pour beneath the IC body and on power-supply pins for any elevated ambient.
