Estimated: at V_BATT=14V, V_OUT=0.5V (saturated), and I=2A continuous, the IPS6041PBF dissipates approximately (14V-0.5V)*2A = 27W in worst-case short. Place a 100nF ceramic bypass capacitor directly between Vcc (pin 5) and GND (pin 1) to suppress logic-supply transients during switching events. Do not connect the IN pin directly to a 12V battery node - the IN pin is a CMOS logic input rated for 5V levels and must be driven from a 5V MCU or level-shifted.
