TLV9301IDBVR Übersicht
An operational amplifier (op amp) is a high-gain DC-coupled differential amplifier that uses external feedback components to set closed-loop behavior. The TLV9301IDBVR is a general-purpose, low-cost, low-power CMOS op amp in TI's "TLVx" value line, designed for high-voltage (up to 40 V) industrial and consumer applications where input voltage can swing to the positive supply (rail-to-rail input common-mode support on the non-inverting input only, per the family) and the output must swing to either rail. In the broader taxonomy, it sits as: op amp -> amplifier IC -> analog IC -> semiconductor -> integrated circuit.
Key differentiating specs include a wide 2.7-V to 40-V single-supply operating range (or ±1.35 V to ±20 V split supply), 60 mA typical short-circuit output current for driving moderate loads, low quiescent current, and EMI-hardened inputs that reject RF interference in dense PCB layouts. The SOT-23-5 footprint enables board-space-constrained designs such as portable instrumentation, sensor signal conditioning, and active filters.
Architecturally, the TLV9301 uses a CMOS input stage with integrated electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection and a class-AB output stage that delivers rail-to-rail swing while maintaining stability into 1 nF loads. Its MUX-friendly input stage tolerates fast rail-to-rail common-mode transitions, making it suitable for use downstream of an analog multiplexer in multi-channel data-acquisition front-ends.
Typical applications include motor-drive current-sense amplifiers, battery-pack monitoring front-ends, multi-channel analog input modules on PLCs, low-side current shunts, active signal conditioning for 4-20 mA loops, and transducer / bridge amplifiers. Designers favor this part when a generic 1-MHz op amp with wide supply headroom and rail-to-rail output must fit on a tiny SOT-23 footprint without the cost of a precision-grade part.
When designing with the TLV9301IDBVR, place a 1 nF to 100 nF bypass capacitor within 5 mm of the supply pin, keep input traces short to minimize leakage and pickup, and note that the input common-mode range does NOT include the negative rail (it is not a true RRIO). For multiplexer-driven inputs, add a 10 kΩ series resistor at each input to limit transient current and preserve long-term reliability.

Typische Anwendungen
TLV9301IDBVR ist geeignet für 6 Anwendungs: Industrial 24V Sensor Signal Conditioning, Multi-Channel Data Acquisition Front-End, Low-Side Current-Sense Amplifier for Motor Drives, Active Filter and Transducer Buffering, Battery-Pack Monitoring Front-End (≤36V Stacks), PLC and Factory Automation Analog Input Modules.
Industrial 24V Sensor Signal Conditioning
The TLV9301IDBVR is a strong fit for industrial 24-V sensor signal conditioning because its 2.7-V to 40-V single-supply range tolerates direct connection to a 24-V industrial bus after a simple resistor-divider scaling, while its ±0.5 mV typical input offset preserves the millivolt-level signals from RTDs, thermocouples, and bridge sensors. With a 1-MHz GBW and rail-to-rail output the part easily amplifies 0-100 Hz transducer signals without losing dynamic range; place a 100 nF bypass within 5 mm of the supply pin to reject switching noise from a co-located DC-DC converter.

Multi-Channel Data Acquisition Front-End
The TLV9301IDBVR's MUX-friendly input stage is specifically designed to survive rapid common-mode voltage step transitions when driven by an analog multiplexer, making it the ideal post-buffer for 8-/16-channel DAQ systems that scan sensors at hundreds of kHz. Its 1-MHz GBW preserves the input signal's settled value within a few microseconds of MUX switching, while its EMI-hardened inputs reject RF pickup from noisy industrial environments. Use a 10 kΩ series resistor at the MUX output to limit transient current into the input stage during channel-to-channel steps of several tens of volts.

Low-Side Current-Sense Amplifier for Motor Drives
For low-side current sensing in brushed-DC and stepper motor drivers the TLV9301IDBVR is a strong choice: its input common-mode range extends to V- (the negative rail) so it can directly sense the high-side of a ground-referenced shunt resistor during PWM switching, and its ±60 mA typical short-circuit output current lets it drive long PCB traces into a downstream ADC or comparator. The 1-MHz GBW captures the current-control loop bandwidth demanded by FOC algorithms at moderate PWM frequencies above 20 kHz.

Active Filter and Transducer Buffering
The TLV9301IDBVR is well suited as a Sallen-Key or multiple-feedback active filter in the 10 Hz to 100 kHz range, where its 1-MHz GBW provides at least 10× loop gain above the highest filter corner for low distortion. Its rail-to-rail output swing maximizes dynamic range on 5-V or 12-V supplies, and its sub-microamp input bias current (CMOS input) prevents the part from loading high-impedance piezoelectric or pH sensors. Add a 100 pF to 1 nF capacitor in parallel with the feedback resistor to maintain phase margin in unity-gain buffer configs.

Battery-Pack Monitoring Front-End (≤36V Stacks)
For 4S to 10S lithium-ion battery-pack monitoring front-ends (up to 36 V max cell-stack voltage), the TLV9301IDBVR is an excellent buffer amplifier between the cell-balancing resistors and the monitor IC's ADC inputs because its 40-V supply lets it run directly from the top of stack without a separate level shifter. Its ±0.5 mV typical input offset adds < 5 mV error to a 1-Ω sense resistor measurement, and its low quiescent current (per family datasheet) helps preserve battery runtime in storage mode. Use a low-pass RC at the output to filter ADC-conversion switching transients.
Empfohlen
PLC and Factory Automation Analog Input Modules
In PLC analog input modules that digitize 4-20 mA loops, 0-10 V field signals, and thermocouple millivolts, the TLV9301IDBVR is a strong general-purpose input buffer because it survives input voltages up to 40 V (beyond the 10-V or 24-V industrial signal range) and its rail-to-rail output drives downstream ADC inputs all the way to either supply rail. Its MUX-friendly inputs allow direct connection to the PLC's channel-multiplexer, cutting BOM cost by eliminating a dedicated protection amplifier. Operate multiple units in parallel for multi-channel density with shared 1-mm SOT-23-5 footprints.

Designhinweise
Place a 100 nF (X7R, 50 V or higher) bypass capacitor within 5 mm of the TLV9301IDBVR's V+ pin (Pin 4), connecting directly to the V- (Pin 2) ground. The op amp's 40-V supply rail will inject switching noise into adjacent traces if the bypass is too far away; on multilayer boards use a dedicated power plane stitched with the bypass via. Estimated: at 1 mA quiescent current the local 100 nF cap holds the rail to within 5 mV during a 10 mA load step lasting 10 µs (ΔV = I·Δt/C = 10 mA·10 µs / 100 nF = 1 V worst case without the cap, < 50 mV with the cap in place).
The TLV9301IDBVR is NOT a true rail-to-rail input op amp - the input common-mode range extends to (V- - 0.1 V) but only to (V+ - 1.5 V). Attempting to operate the non-inverting input near the positive rail will cause the input stage to saturate and the output to lose linearity. If you need rail-to-rail INPUT (RRIO) operation for ground-referenced signal chains that swing to either supply, use a TLV9062 (RRIO 5.5 V) or a higher-cost RRIO alternative instead.
Keep input traces short (< 5 mm) and guarded with a ground ring on at least one side to prevent leakage and stray pickup, especially in high-impedance pH-electrode or piezo-sensor front-ends. The CMOS input stage of the TLV9301IDBVR has sub-nA bias current but the leakage drop across 1 MΩ input resistance at 5 nA leakage is 5 mV - use Teflon standoff or guard rings for > 100 MΩ source impedances. Place series 10 kΩ resistors at each input when driving from an analog MUX to limit transient current during channel-to-channel common-mode steps.
