For optimal isolation performance, maintain a minimum creepage distance of 8 mm between the logic side (pins 1-8) and the isolated side (pins 9-16) on the PCB. Use a ground plane on the logic side and a separate ground plane on the isolated side, with a slot cut between them to increase the isolation barrier. Place decoupling capacitors (0.1 µF and 10 µF) close to VDD1 and VDD2 pins.
The integrated isoPower DC-DC converter requires a minimum load to maintain regulation. Ensure the isolated side has a load of at least 10 mA, which is typically provided by the transceiver and bus termination resistors.
