E-TDA7375AV Présentation
An audio power amplifier is an electronic device that increases the amplitude of low-power audio signals to a level sufficient to drive loudspeakers. In the signal chain, the audio amplifier sits between the preamplifier (or head unit) and the speakers, providing the necessary voltage and current gain. The TDA7375AV belongs to the class of analog linear amplifiers, specifically a class AB amplifier, which offers a good balance between efficiency and linearity, minimizing distortion while maintaining reasonable power dissipation.
Key features of the E-TDA7375AV include a high output power of 45W per channel, a wide supply voltage range, and a low distortion of 0.03% at 1kHz. It also incorporates standby and mute functions for power management, and a pop-free turn-on/off sequence to eliminate audible clicks. The device is protected against short circuits, thermal overload, and overvoltage, ensuring reliable operation in harsh automotive environments.
The amplifier uses a complementary output stage with a bipolar junction transistor (BJT) architecture, providing high current capability and low saturation voltage. The device is available in a Multiwatt-15 package, which offers excellent thermal performance through a large exposed metal tab that can be soldered to the PCB for heat dissipation. The package is designed for easy mounting and is compatible with standard through-hole assembly processes.
Typical applications include car radio amplifiers, multimedia systems, and aftermarket audio upgrades. The high output power and low distortion make it ideal for driving 4-ohm speakers in a car cabin, delivering clear and powerful sound. The standby and mute functions allow for efficient power management, reducing battery drain when the audio system is not in use.
When designing with the E-TDA7375AV, it is essential to provide adequate heatsinking to manage the thermal dissipation, especially when driving high power levels. The device's thermal shutdown protection prevents damage from overheating, but proper PCB layout with a large copper area under the package is recommended to maintain junction temperature within safe limits.

Notes de conception
The E-TDA7375AV can dissipate significant power when driving high output levels. For example, at 45W per channel into 4 ohms, the power dissipation can exceed 20W. The Multiwatt-15 package's metal tab must be soldered to a large copper area on the PCB to act as a heatsink. A thermal resistance of 2 C/W or lower is recommended for the heatsink to keep the junction temperature below 150C.
Place the power supply decoupling capacitors (100uF electrolytic and 100nF ceramic) as close as possible to the VCC pin. The input capacitors (0.1uF) should be placed near the input pins to filter high-frequency noise. Use a star-ground topology to minimize ground loops and reduce noise coupling between channels.
Do not operate the amplifier without a load connected, as this can cause output stage damage. Ensure the standby and mute pins are properly controlled to avoid pop noise during power-up. The SVR pin should be bypassed with a 10uF capacitor to improve ripple rejection and reduce turn-on transients.
