Notes de conception

The PIC16LF1707-E/SO's XLP technology achieves sub-1 uA deep-sleep current with the CPU halted and peripherals disabled. Designers should configure unused peripherals to OFF in firmware and use the LFINTOSC (31 kHz) during sleep to minimize dynamic current. Estimated: a typical sensor node wakes every 5 s for 50 ms at 32 MHz IDD ~3 mA; averaging across 5 s cycles gives ~30 uA average, supporting 3+ years of operation from a 240 mAh coin cell.

Place a 100nF decoupling capacitor within 5 mm of the VDD pin (pin 18) and VSS (pin 20) to suppress switching noise from the core. Add a bulk 1-10 uF tantalum or ceramic capacitor near the supply entry point for transient suppression. The exposed VSS pin doubles as the heat-sinking path; ensure the GND copper pour is unbroken under the IC to provide thermal dissipation and reference stability for the ADC.

The PIC16LF1707-E/SO's pin 3 (RA3/MCLR) functions as Master Clear when configuration bit MCLRE=1. If MCLR is disabled, that pin becomes a dedicated I/O (RA3). Programming voltage (VPP) on RA3 must reach 8V-9V during ICSP - never drive high-current loads on this pin if you intend to use ICSP. Also, the on-chip op-amps share pins with ADC inputs; design firmware to disable the op-amp before switching the pin to ADC mode to avoid signal contention.
