DS90CR282MTDX Présentation
Channel Link is a proprietary high-speed digital interface technology developed by National Semiconductor (now part of Texas Instruments) that reduces the number of parallel data lines by serializing them into differential pairs. This technology is widely used in flat panel displays, digital video interfaces, and other high-bandwidth applications where reducing cable count and EMI is critical. The DS90CR282MTDX is a receiver in this family, providing the deserialization function that reconstructs the original parallel data bus.
Key features of the DS90CR282MTDX include support for data rates up to 66 MHz (as per the DS90CR285 transmitter), a 28-bit parallel interface, and LVDS signaling that provides low EMI and high noise immunity. The device includes an internal PLL for clock recovery and supports a power-down mode to reduce quiescent current. The 56-pin TSSOP package offers a compact footprint for space-constrained designs.
Technically, the DS90CR282MTDX uses a differential signaling scheme with a nominal 3.5mA output current and a typical 100-ohm termination resistor at the receiver input. The receiver's input common-mode voltage range is designed to accommodate ground potential differences between transmitter and receiver. The device is specified for the commercial temperature range (0°C to 70°C) and is available in tape and reel packaging.
Typical applications include flat panel display interfaces, digital video links, and industrial imaging systems where high-speed serial data transmission over short distances is required. The DS90CR282MTDX is often used in conjunction with the DS90CR281 transmitter to form a complete Channel Link solution.
When designing with this device, ensure proper termination of the LVDS lines with 100-ohm resistors close to the receiver inputs, and maintain controlled impedance on the PCB traces to minimize signal reflections. The power-down pin can be used to reduce power consumption when the link is idle.

Notes de conception
For reliable LVDS operation, route the four data pairs and clock pair as differential pairs with 100-ohm differential impedance. Keep the trace lengths matched within 5 mils to minimize skew. Place 100-ohm termination resistors as close to the receiver input pins as possible. Use a solid ground plane beneath the LVDS traces to reduce noise and EMI.
Decouple the VCC pins with 0.1uF ceramic capacitors placed as close to each VCC pin as possible. Additionally, use a 10uF bulk capacitor near the device. The supply voltage should be within 4.5V to 5.5V. Ensure the power supply has low ripple to avoid jitter on the recovered clock.
Do not leave the PWRDN pin floating; tie it high for normal operation or low for power-down. Ensure the transmitter and receiver are properly paired (DS90CR281 with DS90CR282). Mismatched data rates or polarity can cause data corruption. Verify the LVDS input polarity (positive and negative) matches the transmitter output.
