LPC2364FET100 概要

The NXP LPC2364FET100 is a 16/32-bit ARM7TDMI-S microcontroller operating at 72 MHz with 128 kB of embedded flash and 34 kB of SRAM, housed in a 100-ball TFBGA (9x9 mm) package. It integrates an Ethernet MAC, USB 2.0 full-speed Device/Host/OTG, two CAN channels, three SSP/SPI ports, three I2C buses, an I2S interface, an 8-channel 10-bit ADC and a single 10-bit DAC, plus a 4-channel general-purpose timer block and 70 user I/O pins.

An ARM7 microcontroller (Advanced RISC Machine, 32-bit) is a low-power general-purpose MCU core widely deployed in embedded networking and industrial control. Within the NXP LPC2000 family hierarchy, it sits between simpler Cortex-M0/M3 devices and higher-end Cortex-M3/M4 parts, balancing deterministic real-time performance with rich on-chip peripherals. The ARM7TDMI-S core combines a 32-bit data path with a 16-bit Thumb instruction set, giving a useful trade-off between code density and computational throughput for legacy and cost-sensitive designs.

Key features include 128 kB on-chip flash with ISP/IAP support, 34 kB SRAM, a 128-bit-wide memory interface and a unique accelerator architecture that lets 32-bit code execute at the maximum clock rate. The device supports single 3.3 V supply operation, four UARTs (one with full modem control), two CAN 2.0B channels, and an external memory controller for SRAM/Flash/ROM expansion. The integrated 10-bit ADC with eight input channels and 10-bit DAC remove the need for external data converters in many closed-loop control loops.

Typical applications include industrial Ethernet gateways, CAN-based fieldbus nodes, building automation controllers, USB peripherals, and embedded Point-of-Sale terminals that benefit from the simultaneous availability of Ethernet + USB + CAN. The 70 I/O pins and external memory bus also suit legacy 8/16-bit peripheral expansion. The 72 MHz ARM7 core is more than adequate for protocol stacks (TCP/IP, CANopen, Modbus) where deterministic latency matters more than raw compute.

Key design consideration: the LPC2364FET100 is a member of the legacy ARM7 family and is not pin-compatible with newer Cortex-M3 LPC1768/LPC1769 parts; firmware must be rebuilt for migration. Decoupling must follow the NXP reference design (100 nF + 10 µF bulk near each VDD/VSS pair) to keep the 128-bit wide memory interface clean at 72 MHz.

This page synthesizes distributor pricing, drop-in alternatives within the LPC2364 family, and design notes not found in the manufacturer datasheet alone.

主な用途

LPC2364FET100 の用途: 6 件s: Industrial Ethernet Gateway, CAN-Based Fieldbus Node, USB Human-Interface Device (HID), Building Automation Controller, Point-of-Sale (POS) Terminal, Legacy Industrial Control Retrofit.

🏭

Industrial Ethernet Gateway

The LPC2364FET100's integrated 10/100 Ethernet MAC, USB 2.0 OTG, and dual CAN controllers let it act as a compact protocol-translation gateway between fieldbus and corporate networks without external bridge ICs. Its 72 MHz ARM7TDMI-S core handles a uIP/lwIP TCP/IP stack with adequate headroom for Modbus TCP or PROFINET edge functions, while the 34 kB of SRAM is sufficient for socket buffers and protocol state. Why it fits: the on-chip Ethernet MAC removes the cost of an external PHY-less MAC chip, and 70 GPIO lines expose legacy 24 V optocoupler interfaces typical of factory floors. Design note: an external Ethernet PHY (e.g., DP83848) plus magnetics is still required; total BOM stays under USD 25 in volume.

🏭

CAN-Based Fieldbus Node

Two on-chip CAN 2.0B controllers make the LPC2364FET100 a natural fit for CANopen, DeviceNet, or J1939 nodes in industrial automation, elevator controllers, and automotive test equipment. The 72 MHz ARM7 core executes CANopen stack (CANfestival/CiA 401) with predictable timing, while the 8-channel 10-bit ADC reads analog sensors (temperature, pressure) directly. Why it fits: integrating dual CAN reduces BOM count by one external CAN transceiver-less MCU, and 70 GPIO simplify digital I/O concentration. Performance: at 1 Mbit/s CAN, full software load handling leaves at least 30% CPU for application code.

🧩

USB Human-Interface Device (HID)

The integrated USB 2.0 full-speed Device/Host/OTG controller, combined with 70 GPIO, allows the LPC2364FET100 to serve as a USB HID peripheral (keyboard, custom keypad, industrial HMI panel) that also drives an LCD or matrix of LEDs. Why it fits: USB OTG enables both device and host roles, useful for industrial tablets that read USB flash drives for firmware logs. The 128 kB flash is sufficient for HID class drivers plus application code, and the 10-bit DAC can output analog reference voltages for calibration. Design tip: enable the internal pull-up on the USB D+ line via the USBOTG pin to avoid an external 1.5 kohm resistor.

🏭

Building Automation Controller

Building automation systems (BACnet, Modbus, KNX gateways) require deterministic multi-protocol support - exactly the niche where the LPC2364FET100 excels. With two CAN buses, four UARTs, three I2C buses, Ethernet, and 70 GPIO, it can simultaneously serve as a BACnet/IP-to-BACnet MS-TP router and a Modbus master. Why it fits: the ARM7 core's deterministic interrupt latency keeps BACnet timing budgets, while 128 kB flash holds both stacks and a small web server for HTML configuration. Power: at 72 MHz the part draws roughly 70 mA from a 3.3 V supply, fitting in PoE-powered controller budgets.

💰

Point-of-Sale (POS) Terminal

POS terminals need Ethernet for back-office sync, USB for peripherals (bar-code scanner, receipt printer), and GPIO plus ADC for the keypad and battery monitor - all of which the LPC2364FET100 integrates. Why it fits: the on-chip Ethernet MAC eliminates external MAC-less bridge chips, USB OTG supports both printer (device) and flash drive (host) modes, and 70 GPIO drive matrix keypads. Trade-off: 128 kB flash is tight for full TLS stacks; many designs add an external SPI flash for crypto libraries and store firmware overlays there. The 72 MHz ARM7 core delivers 5 to 10 TLS handshakes per second with mbedTLS, adequate for low-volume terminals.

🏭

Legacy Industrial Control Retrofit

Many factories still operate legacy 8/16-bit-controlled machines (textile looms, packaging lines, PLCs) where upgrading the MCU firmware adds features (Ethernet logging, USB diagnostics) without reworking the I/O board. The LPC2364FET100's external memory controller lets it map legacy peripheral address spaces, easing firmware porting. Why it fits: 70 GPIO is more than enough to replace several legacy 8051-based slaves with one ARM7 controller, and the I2S interface supports legacy audio feedback boards. Design tip: the external memory controller's address/data bus requires 4.7 kohm pull-ups on idle lines for stable operation with long backplane wiring.

What is the operating frequency of the LPC2364FET100?
The LPC2364FET100 ARM7TDMI-S core runs at a maximum clock frequency of 72 MHz, according to the NXP LPC2364/65/66/67/68 datasheet. The on-chip PLL derives the system clock from the external crystal oscillator (typically 1 MHz to 25 MHz), and 32-bit code executes at the full clock rate thanks to the 128-bit wide memory interface and the accelerator architecture unique to the LPC2300 family.
How much flash and RAM does the LPC2364FET100 have?
The LPC2364FET100 integrates 128 kB of on-chip flash memory (with In-System Programming and In-Application Programming support) and 34 kB of SRAM. The flash size positions it as the entry point of the LPC2364/65/66/67/68 family; higher-numbered siblings (LPC2365, 2366, 2367, 2368) double or quadruple the flash capacity up to 512 kB, but share the same ARM7 core and peripherals.
What peripherals are integrated in the LPC2364FET100?
The LPC2364FET100 integrates Ethernet MAC, USB 2.0 full-speed Device/Host/OTG, two CAN 2.0B controllers, four UARTs, three SSP/SPI ports, three I2C buses, one I2S interface, an 8-channel 10-bit ADC, a 10-bit DAC, four general-purpose timers, two PWM blocks, a GPDMA controller, and an external memory controller. With 70 user I/O pins, very few external bus peripherals are needed in most designs.
Is the LPC2364FET100 in stock and where can I buy it?
According to Octopart data fetched on 2026-10-08, LPC2364FET100 is offered by 9 distributors with bulk-tier pricing shown on this page. The part is in active production per NXP lifecycle status, but lead times for industrial-grade NXP ARM7 parts can extend beyond 12 weeks; check authorized distributors (DigiKey, Mouser, Future Electronics) for real-time stock and traceable supply.
What is the price of the LPC2364FET100?
LPC2364FET100 unit prices as of 2026-10-08 range from USD 14.50 at qty 1 down to USD 8.95 at qty 1000, based on aggregated Octopart distributor data. Volume pricing breaks at qty 10 (USD 13.05), qty 100 (USD 11.45), and qty 500 (USD 10.10). Always confirm spot pricing with the chosen distributor before placing a production order, as ARM7 inventory is subject to allocation.
What is the lead time for the LPC2364FET100?
Lead time for the LPC2364FET100 typically runs 8 to 14 weeks from NXP authorized channels because the device is in the legacy ARM7 family rather than a Cortex-M product. Distributors like DigiKey may have reel stock that ships in 1 to 5 days; otherwise factory orders and lead times must be confirmed against NXP's current allocation. Order-on-request quoting is the safest sourcing path for 2026.
What is the difference between LPC2364FET100 and LPC2368FBD100?
Both parts share the same ARM7TDMI-S core at 72 MHz, identical peripherals (Ethernet, USB, CAN, ADC, DAC), and the same external memory controller. The difference is flash and SRAM capacity: LPC2364FET100 has 128 kB flash and 34 kB SRAM, while the LPC2368FBD100 has 512 kB flash and 58 kB SRAM. The LPC2364 also ships in TFBGA-100 while the LPC2368 is offered in LQFP-100; check package code (FET vs FBD) before substituting.
LPC2364FET100 vs LPC2364HBD100 - which is better for industrial Ethernet?
Both parts share the identical ARM7 core, 128 kB flash, 34 kB SRAM, Ethernet MAC, and USB OTG; the difference is package and pinout rather than functionality. The LPC2364FET100 ships in 100-ball TFBGA (9x9 mm) for compact designs, while the LPC2364HBD100 ships in 100-ball TFBGA with slightly different mechanical variant. Either is suitable for industrial Ethernet; choose by board-space budget and existing land pattern rather than by performance.
When should I choose LPC2364FET100 over LPC1768FBD100?
Choose LPC2364FET100 when you have an existing ARM7 firmware base, need the proven LPC2300 peripheral set (Ethernet + USB OTG + dual CAN), or have a design already laid out for the TFBGA-100 footprint. Choose LPC1768FBD100 when starting a new design: it offers a Cortex-M3 core at up to 100 MHz, USB 2.0 high-speed with on-chip PHY, more SRAM (64 kB), and a richer ecosystem. Firmware is NOT portable; plan a porting effort if migrating.
What is the best drop-in replacement for LPC2364FET100?
The best drop-in same-package replacement for the LPC2364FET100 is the LPC2364HBD100 (same TFBGA-100, identical flash/RAM/peripherals - differing only in mechanical variant code). For applications that can accept a larger package, the LPC2365FET100 doubles flash to 256 kB with identical peripherals, and the LPC2368FBD100 quadruples to 512 kB in LQFP-100. All are NXP LPC2300 family parts, allowing firmware reuse without code changes.
Can a Cortex-M part replace the LPC2364FET100 without redesign?
No, a Cortex-M3 part such as LPC1768FBD100 is NOT a drop-in replacement for LPC2364FET100. The two are in different packages (TFBGA-100 vs LQFP-100) and run different instruction sets, so firmware must be rebuilt and the PCB land pattern modified. For a true drop-in replacement that requires no firmware change, stay within the LPC2364/65/66/67/68 family in the same TFBGA-100 footprint.
Where can I download the LPC2364FET100 datasheet PDF?
The official NXP LPC2364FET100 datasheet PDF is available from the NXP product page at https://www.nxp.com/products/processors-and-microcontrollers/arm-microcontrollers/general-purpose-mcus/lpc2000-arm7/arm7-with-128-kb-flash-34-kb-sram-ethernet-usb-2-0-device-can-and-10-bit-adc:LPC2364FET100. The datasheet covers the entire LPC2364/65/66/67/68 family, typically around 70 pages including pinout, electrical characteristics, and peripheral descriptions. Third-party mirrors at alldatasheet.com and digchip.com also host the PDF.
What is the pinout of the LPC2364FET100 TFBGA-100?
The LPC2364FET100 is a 100-ball TFBGA on a 9x9 mm substrate with 0.8 mm ball pitch, and pin assignments (per NXP datasheet) follow the standard LPC2300 family ball map. VDD/VDDA pins are grouped along the bottom and right edges, GND pins along the top and left, while GPIO Port 0 (P0.0 to P0.31), Port 1 (P1.16 to P1.31), Port 2, Port 3, Port 4, and the Ethernet/USB/CAN balls occupy the interior. Refer to the datasheet's Pin Configuration chapter for the exact ball map before PCB layout.
Is the LPC2364FET100 RoHS compliant?
Yes, the LPC2364FET100,518 ordering code is RoHS compliant per the NXP product page; the ,518 suffix denotes the lead-free, RoHS-compliant, 100-ball TFBGA reel packaging. The part is also halogen-free. The non-RoHS variants (with SnPb ball finish) carry different suffixes; always confirm the exact ordering code with your distributor when ordering for a RoHS-compliant production build.
What are the key specifications of the LPC2364FET100 that matter most for design-in?
For design-in, the four most critical specs are: (1) ARM7TDMI-S core at 72 MHz with 128-bit memory interface for deterministic 32-bit code execution; (2) 128 kB flash + 34 kB SRAM with ISP/IAP support for in-field firmware updates; (3) integrated Ethernet MAC + USB 2.0 OTG + dual CAN, removing external PHY/bridge chips; (4) 70 GPIO plus 8-channel 10-bit ADC and 10-bit DAC, supporting direct sensor and actuator interfaces. The 3.3 V single-rail supply simplifies these designs at 72 MHz operation.

主な差別化要因

  • Highest integration at the LPC2364 tier (vs LPC2368FBD100)
  • Compact 100-ball TFBGA package (vs LPC2368FBD100)
  • Single 3.3 V supply with on-chip PLLs (vs External PHY + PHY-less MAC designs)

設計ノート

Estimated: the LPC2364FET100 draws roughly 70 mA from a 3.3 V supply at 72 MHz with all peripherals active (per NXP datasheet typical IDD). Use a low-noise LDO such as LM1117-ADJ or a small buck regulator with 100 nF + 10 µF ceramic decoupling at each VDD pin. The analog VDDA pin (where exposed) should be filtered separately with a ferrite bead to keep ADC noise below 1 LSB at 10-bit resolution.

Place 100 nF decoupling capacitors within 5 mm of every VDD/VSS pair and a single 10 µF bulk capacitor near the package. The TFBGA-100 0.8 mm ball pitch requires laser-cut or 1 oz copper with microvia-in-pad for reliable assembly; standard 4-layer FR4 with 0.2 mm via diameter is acceptable for prototypes. Keep the external memory bus traces short and length-matched within 2 cm to avoid skew at 72 MHz operation.

Do not assume the Ethernet MAC is a complete Ethernet port: an external PHY (e.g., DP83848, LAN8742A) plus magnetics and RJ45 jack is still required. The USB D+ line needs a 1.5 kohm pull-up to 3.3 V enabled by firmware; do not hard-wire the pull-up. When migrating firmware between LPC2364 (128 kB flash) and LPC2368 (512 kB flash), check that all interrupt vectors are within the LPC2364's flash range, otherwise the application will silently fail to boot.

The 128-bit wide memory interface inside the LPC2364FET100 already handles internal bus skew, but external GPIO toggling above 18 MHz on adjacent pins can cause ground bounce. Spread high-speed signals across non-adjacent balls (e.g., use P0.2 and P0.10 rather than P0.0 and P0.1). When the external memory controller is enabled, the address/data bus should be routed on inner layers with a continuous ground plane beneath to control impedance at 50 ohm nominal.
