Design Notes
Use a 10Β΅F low ESR ceramic capacitor on the output, placed as close to the OUT pin as possible. The input capacitor should be at least 1Β΅F. The PowerPAD must be soldered to a copper area on the PCB for thermal dissipation. Ensure adequate thermal vias to the ground plane.
The PowerPAD package provides a low thermal resistance path. For high power dissipation, ensure the PCB copper area under the PowerPAD is at least 1 square inch. Calculate junction temperature using the thermal resistance from the datasheet to avoid exceeding the maximum rating.
Do not exceed the input voltage rating of 10V. The RESET output is open-drain and requires a pull-up resistor. Ensure the output capacitor is low ESR; using a high ESR capacitor may cause instability. Verify the enable pin logic level for proper startup.
Compliance Information
