The PIC12F509-I/MS does NOT have an ADC. Engineers familiar with the PIC12F675 (4-channel 10-bit ADC) sometimes assume the PIC12F509 has the same ADC - it does not. If your design needs any analog-to-digital conversion, choose the PIC12F675-I/MS instead, which is pin-compatible and adds the ADC. Also note that the PIC12F509 has NO EEPROM data memory - only the 41 bytes of RAM. Store persistent calibration or configuration data in Flash with wear-levelling, or step up to the PIC12F1840 which adds 256 bytes of true EEPROM.
